Ferris Mountains Ridgewalking
Quote from Isaac Lass on July 24, 2024, 11:24 amThis weekend (the 26-28 of July) I plan on doing some ridgewalking in the Ferris Mountains. It is a pretty small mountain range north of Rawlins (WY). So far my efforts (2 trips) have turned up a sinking stream and a small 100' cave. However, I have only covered about 1/20 of the limestone and I have a bunch of LiDar leads. There's also a was known cave somewhere up there that I'm trying to relocate (I found a 1912 picture of people at the entrance).
Anyways, I know it's a long shot but if anyone is free this weekend (or interested in doing a trip later in the summer) let me know. And the roads are pretty rough up there so a 4-wheel drive vehicle (with decent clearance) is an absolute must.
